Edina High School Cheerleading Tryouts (Varsity & JV)

Tryout clinics to learn the tryout material (optional but encouraged!)

• Monday, April 6, 6-7:30pm EHS Field House
• Tuesday, April 7, 6-7:30pm EHS Field House

Tryout Day  

• Thursday, April 9, 5pm start, EHS Field House
• Athletes are welcome to tryout in a group of roughly 3-5 people. At the tryout all participants will have an opportunity to perform the tryout material, a toe touch jump, and any standing and/or running tumbling.
• Note - Coaches will not be spotting any tumbling skills at the tryout. 
• Note - If skills cannot be performed at tryout due to illness or injury, athletes will not be placed on a team until fully cleared and skills can be performed and evaluated.

Tryout Results  

• Athletes will be notified via email on or before Monday, April 13th

This April tryout is for athletes currently in grades 6-11 and registered students in EPS for 2026-2027 interested in the JV (Gr 7-12) or Varsity (Gr 8-12) Cheer Teams. 

Students enrolled at Our Lady of Grace Catholic School are also eligible to tryout. 

Varsity & JV compete at local competitions with the possibility of competing at the national level.

CURRENT 7th-12th grade EPS students will register HERE.

*Note- Students are NOT allowed to tryout without an up-to-date physical on file (sport physicals are valid for 3 years). A copy of the sport physical form can be found HERE. You can contact Christine Lawrence if you need to check on your child's sport physical status.

Junior High Cheer is a competitive team with tryouts in August each year.
